We provide lessons for babies from 2 months old. As babies have spent 9 months in their own watery world, they have a natural affinity in the water so parents can take their babies swimming as soon as they feel ready, you don't need to wait until your baby has had all their jabs. We do recommend that you check with your doctor before starting lessons if your child is premature and can attend lessons after their due date.
-
If your child is attending the Parent & Baby classes or is not fully toilet trained yet then we require that they comply with our Double nappy policy. We ask that you put your child first, in a disposable swim nappy or a reusable cotton (or similar fabric) with disposable liner swim nappy, then on top of that a snug neoprene (or similar fabric) swim nappy.
We don't want you be the party pooper in the pool (literally)
-
If your child is in our Parent & Baby classes; Teeny Tadpoles, Mini Gliders, Fab Froglets & Happy Hoppers up to the age of 3 then Yes! We ask for a Parent/Guardian to be in the water with your child throughout the lesson. These classes provide a wonderful bonding experience for you and your baby and help build up their confidence in the water.
-
No! Don't worry if you're a bit nervous or not confident about swimming. Your feet can stay firmly on the bottom of the pool, if that is what you are comfortable with. All the activities and exercises are mainly focused on the child but if their is an activity/exercise your not comfortable with then the teacher will adapt to fit your needs.
-
At the point of booking you will be asked a few questions to identify where your child is in their swim journey and be directed to the best suited stage from your given answers. We can also provide an assessment slot to make sure we place your child in the class that suits their abilities the best. If you have any questions or unsure which class to place your child then please don’t hesitate to get in touch and we will be here every step of the way.

Here at Lily’s Pad we know, as a child, receiving that badge and certificate is an amazing achievement. So let’s make it a party and have 3 award presentations throughout the year. Your child will receive their well earned badge and certificates with all their fellow classmates and family and we can all celebrate together.

In our Parent & Baby lessons we believe strongly in making sure the experience is a positive one and each individual child's needs are met. We consider this when we introduce submersions in our lessons.
Submersions are NEVER forced in Lily’s Pad Parent & Baby swimming lessons. We will teach you as a parent the ‘signal’ to help prepare your baby so they are ready for the water and take small steps so confidence is built, keeping the nurturing and positive, fun atmosphere in our lessons.
Be confident that an unhappy baby is never submerged, we will adapt the activity that includes submersions so they can still join in the fun.
-
Unfortunately we don't allow phones on poolside for safeguarding reasons but we do provide “my first” photos memory keepsakes for the Parent & Baby lessons, taken following safeguarding procedures.
-
If the unfortunate event of us having to cancel a class occurs, due to any unforeseen circumstances e.g pool maintenance or a swim teacher sickness, we will make sure you are notified as soon as possible either via text message, email or phone call. You will be given the opportunity to schedule a catch up lesson as we understand the importance of consistency and keeping up on your child's progress. We want minimal disruption in their learn to swim journey.
-
If you decide that you wish to cancel your swimming lessons, we require a written confirmation via email and notice of one full month effective from the date of your email.
Eg: your payment date is the 1st of every month so if you send your cancellation notice email on the 27th June, your lessons will continue till the end of June. Your final payment will be taken on the 1st July and your last lesson will be in the last week of July.
